We got up early took a small walk around the hotel, had breakfast and got ready by 7:00 am. All set to explore the Sea Aquarium in Resorts World Sentosa! We reached the Vivo City station and took a monorail from there to Sentosa. We had purchased the tickets well in advance, we had bought tickets for $30 SGD at discounted prices.

It opens at 10:00 am and we were on time. The Sea Aquarium holds a Guinness World Record for the World’s second Largest Aquarium. It has undoubtedly the largest viewing panel and largest underwater dome which is about 9m in diameter. It is the house for 100,000 species of aquatic life from all over the planet. There are a lot of activities that go on in the sea aquarium.

IMG_3484When you enter the Sea aquarium you get to see a very huge Maritime Experiential Museum, where you can see a 4D movie in Typhoon theater. The story is around the Asian seafarers and depicts a situation where they are stuck in a typhoon. The 4D experience in the theater is great, this ends with a dramatization of a shipwreck where they land you one floor down at the end of the show with a resounding THUD!!! This later leads you to the Sea Aquarium. You can definitely feel the actual connect between the movie and the aquarium through this movie experience.

The aquarium has a panoramic view created like an open ocean which gives you a whole new experience. It stretches as far as your eyes can see and it also gives you a closer view to the diverse collection of marine life. As you progress further you will fall in love with the red corals, glowing jellyfish and the hammer head sharks (known as kings of seas). We were mesmerized by the view of dancing jelly fishes along the dimly lit pathway. We also could see the Manta rays so closely.

You will further be transported into the colorful world of corals and reef fishes of the Andaman region. The ones who make you fall in love with them are the dolphins. Trust me, they make your experience even more special. You can also go and play with them. They are very friendly creatures. They are a big time favorite, particularly with the children and family.

All these activities sound very exciting, and they certainly are. Only thing you need, is proper time to explore it all. You need at least 5-6 hrs to explore everything in the aquarium. No doubt, this is a platform for all age groups to experience the majestic and unusual experiences of the sea. We completed seeing the whole of Sea Aquarium by 3:00 pm. We had our lunch nearby and moved further to check out the other areas in Sentosa. We saw the Sentosa Merlion, shopped lots of M&M's then moved to the last stop of Sentosa, the Sentosa beach.

Till the sun down it all looks quite plain, but as darkness hits the skies, the life begins here. The beach side has lots of shacks for food and drinks. Someone told us about the Light and Sound show here which would start at 7.45pm. We quickly bought the tickets and eagerly waited in the open air amphitheatre right in the beach. It was a magical performance of 2 cranes falling in love with each other, called Wings of Time. The stunning audio visual effects, water effects and laser lights makes the show worth the extra time we spent in Sentosa. This was a great end to the day.

We headed back to the hotel and reached quite late in the night. Just 2 more days left before we left this magical city. :’(
